Empirical Perspectives on Gender, Law and Society (C. Alb*ston)

This course will examine some of the rich empirical research in the law and society tradition related to gender, law, and society. These empirical studies span a range of methodologies including both quantitative and qualitative approaches, and draw on comparative as well as American perspectives. Topics include women in the legal profession; gender discrimination in employment; legal regulation of women's experience in public places; and the relationship between gender and the market.
